Valley House, Providence 2017
We renovated this lovely two unit cottage with new bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, and kitchens. Bright common area in the front of the cottage is perfect for working or relaxing.
Inside unit one there are wood floors in the entry/living area and bedroom and we used an economical and beautiful azure blue tile in the kitchen area.
We maximized space in the small bathroom by opening the back wall when we installed the bathroom shower. It’s tight but still comfortable to use.
We created an entry into unit two with a small vestibule before entering the stairs to the second floor. All floors were finished with stairs painted a rich gloss black.
A small kitchenette functions opposite a bump out that was made in the bathroom on the opposite side to increase space.
This bathroom was more challenging than unit one because of the sloped ceiling. With the sink cutout the space was manageable. We exposed brick on the right side of the door to add interest and warmth to the room. You can see that exposed column in the next photo through the open doorway.
A bedroom and den complete the small unit on the north side of the building.
