Powder Hill Farm, Boothbay Harbor 2020
Powder Hill Farm is a Civil War-era homestead located on the Boothbay Peninsula in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. The original home and barn were replaced with new structures in the 1970’s occupying the same settings as the original 18th Century structures. We took this property and breathed life into the all three structures and revitalized the landscape.
Powder Hill Farm consists of a spectacular 4 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath main house, a stunning 1 bedroom guest cottage, and a classic New England style 3 story barn. It is classic in design, elegant in its proportions, and easy to maintain with its modern efficiency. We maintained details that were authentic in character and renovated and restored everything else. No surface was left untouched.
We upgraded the 3-story barn to create a dream studio with space, heat, running water, half bath, plenty of natural light and power, height to accommodate all manner of oversize productions. A separate heated woodworking shop is on the lower level. A gallery was created on the top level with views overlooking the property.
Exceptional landscaping really makes this a home to be proud of as the visitors on our recent Garden Club tour can attest. Our raised beds featured vegetables and dahlias.
The modern guest cottage offers a soaring two story living room with wood burning fireplace, fresh/crisp kitchen and cozy loft. When you are not busy in the barn, you can walk down the lawn to West Harbor Pond.
